This dashboard displays a high level overview of aggregate enrollment counts over a five year period by different categories such as student academic load, student degree level, and tuition residency. The available categories can be broken down further by career. Enrollment counts are provided by both headcount and full time equivalent (FTE). Users have the option to view the information by term. The data is viewable in either chart or table format.

Definitions

Academic Load
Academic Load is an NC State categorization of students, defined in university regulation. Full-time course load for undergraduate students is designated as 12 credit hours or more in a given term. Full-time course load for non-thesis master's and graduate certificate students is designated as 9 credit hours or more in a given term. For thesis master's or doctoral students, the full-time course load is designated as 9 credit hours or more until the student accumulates sufficient hours to meet degree requirements (a minimum of 30 and 72 for master’s and doctoral degrees, respectively). During this period, they are considered full-time until the completion of their thesis or dissertation, provided they enroll for at least 3 credit hours. This designation is outlined in NCSU REG 02.20.05. Values include ''Full Time'' or ''Part Time.''

Full-time course load for graduate students is designated as 9 credit hours or more in a given term. When aggregated, this measure is typically in decimal format and a sum of each student's FTE value. For example, a full-time undergraduate student registered for 12 credits is 1.0 FTE whereas a part-time undergraduate student registered for 6 credits is 0.5 FTE.

Headcount (Student)
